Hey, this is similar to a problem I’ve been having. My network adapter is not recognized, with that exact error. My adapter is a Netgear wn111v2. I have tried deleting the infcache file, but it hasn’t worked. This is not the first time this has happened. The last time, I also used this solution and it did. I don’t knoknow why it won’t work this time. If you could offer advice i would be very grateful. Typing on a phone is annoying, but it’s the only internet access i have.

Thanks. I have such a long road ahead of me, but I’ve got something that’s been sustainable for a couple months now, so I hope/believe that I’ll be able to keep it up (and keep it off)

In reply to Jeremy Poynton. USBDLM will only move removeable drives around by default, not optical drives, but this can be be configured if desired.

Hmmm. Doesn’t work for me. Re-installed DVD drive grabbed drive letter D, which was assigned to my DATA usb drive. As this has “My Documents” on it, and as it got another drive letter, explorer wouldn’t work, and I had to go do Disk Drive management to reset the drive letters. Stayed fixed on a reboot, but I’m not convinced.
