I am fairly well known for my anti-OSX rants, not so much because it’s a more expensive hardware platform, more expensive software platform, or even because of the lack of user choice. It’s the community and the attitude that annoys me.
Don’t get me wrong, some of the “I’m a Mac” commercials are actually rather funny. However, just as often they seem to miss the boat. Where is the security guard following around the Apple guy after MacBook Air Hacked In Two Minutes?
So without further ado, I bring you:
This morning around 1:30am my power went out. UPSes failed shortly thereafter (unfortunately I haven’t been able to find the right cables to monitor the UPSes)
Power was restored late this morning, all of my Windows servers and desktops are fine, as is my BSD router. Unfortunately my Linux based PBX decided it doesn’t get enough love, the filesystem is rather corrupt looking.
As a result, all of my phones are currently offline. I expect to have some functionality up later this evening, but in the mean time, I’ll apologize in advance to anyone who can’t reach me.
To add to the fun, I did a firmware upgrade to my cellphone a few days ago, it’s still having some technical difficulties, so I may not be reachable by cell either, although that one will be fixed shortly.
