Pretty damn suite

Welp, arrived in Kamloops. We managed to snag the last room at The Maverick Motor Inn, we got a two bedroom suite, with a full kitchen, two TVs (one in the kitchen/livingroom, and one in the master bedroom) for a reasonable price.

Even better, it has a swimming pool with waterslide, much to the delight of the girls. Having spent a good 15 minutes in the pool, they’re back, decided that the mall has far more appeal. Damn kids. 🙂

We’ve got a few hours to kill between now at the party, Lori is having a nap, I’m enjoying the unreliability that is the hotel’s internet connection, and the girls are walking out the door as I type this. We still need a card, and a lint roller, but otherwise we’re more or less set.

Oh, and did I mention the amazing view from the balcony?

Back in Calgary for a full year!

Exactly one year and one day ago I finished packing my stuff in my apartment in Winnipeg, a final cleanup which took three times as long as I’d have expected, said goodbye to Amy (a neighbour, and the only real friend I made in Winnipeg), then packed up and headed to the hotel around 2am. As it turns out, that was a waste of money since I didn’t sleep a wink for fear of missing my 7:15am flight.

One year ago today I arrived in Calgary at 10:30am, the moving truck only a couple hours behind me.

A year later, as I look back, what a great year! Lori, I love ya more then any stupid blog post can describe and it’s been the best year of my life.
