Respect my authoritah

Are you required to sign a speeding ticket? Well, no. However, by refusing to sign you are risking being placed under arrest over a traffic violation. Fair enough.

So, having watched this video several times, I am a little unclear what justified ANY use of force, or why negotiations failed within 20 seconds of the man walking out of his car — Note how quickly the officer took out his taser. The guy did not attempt to bolt, nor did he attempt to attack the officer. Somebody explain to me why the suspect was tasered, why the officer could not inform him what he was being charged with, why he was not given his rights. The officer is very clear that the suspect was tasered for not obeying his authoriti, nothing at all to do with the speeding ticket. So you tell me, did he deserve it? If so, why?

Cinnamon Buns

Welp, it’s that time again. Summer is over, no more camping, no more sweltering in my 30C office because I’m too cheap to buy an air conditioner, no more wearing my favourite cargo shorts, no more quick runs to pick up a pizza without grabbing a jacket, no more iced cappuccinos (not that I’d let a little cold weather stop me, normally. Heck, we’ve already had snow this year. SNOW. Who does that?

It’s also time to get back on the low carb deal. Low carb seems to work reasonably well for me when I’m at home, but when I’m traveling, camping, or otherwise too busy to cook, I don’t find myself caring enough to stick with it. With summer over, I’m more likely to be at home a lot more, and with temperatures falling, standing in front of a hot stove isn’t as painful an experience as it is during the summer.

So we’ll see how it goes.

In the mean time, we ate most of the “bad” food in the house, just one thing to go… Cinnamon Buns! And they were delicious!

My goal is to go as close to zero sugar carbs as possible, stay under ~25-30 grams of carbs daily. And for what it’s worth, my experience has been that net total carbs is a complete waste of time, if you’re going to do low-carb then do it, don’t play math games with fibre.

I’m also going to work on getting caffeine out of my system entirely, so on that note, I’ll close by sharing a comic from one of my favourite cartoonists.
