Please contact me immediately if you notice any problems?
Note sure what a “feed” is? Wikipedia has a longwinded article that seems to sum it up, or check out this video for a very quick introduction to what Google Reader does (and know that “feeds” are the technical term for how Google Reader pulls information)
]]>I previously mentioned the WordPress app for iPhone, allowing easy posting to my blog from my iPhone. Welp, now I’ve done the other side as well, I have installed an iPhone compatible theme, so if you have an iPhone/iPod Touch, hit my blog and let me know what you think?
I also upgraded to WordPress 2.6.1, as always, please report bugs.
]]>I have finally fixed this, so you shouldn’t be seeing /wordpress or /index.php in my blog URLs anymore. Old links should still work, and where possible, will be redirected to the correct URL.
Technically the feed URLs are changing too, but the old URLs are redirecting, so in theory, it shouldn’t be a problem, but updates might be slow for a few days.
Please contact me ASAP if you notice any problems.
]]>The current changes were to include my categories at the top (Geek/Random Jibberish/Travel), remove all of the recent articles from my sidebar, and instead place them down at the bottom.
A few other cosmetic bugs tweaked in the process.
Thoughts?
]]>So far, the experience had been mixed. I’m already familiar with the iPod Touch, so the OS as a whole isn’t new to me, but having the phone and camera is nice. The App Store is a mixed bag, with applications ranging from cute to pathetic.
One thing I didn’t expect is that as far as I can tell, none of the annoying interface bugs from the first version of the OS were fixed.
Safari still crashes several times daily, the music/iPod mode crashes easily too, as do many of the third party apps. Worse, there is complaint after complaint from app developers about Apple’s often excessive delays approving new app store app versions.
On the plus side, despite the instability, there are some neat applications. For example, WordPress had released an app to make it east to blog from the iPhone. Neat.
All in all, it makes a nice phone, but the iPhone is still a bit mediocre as a PDA.
But, it is fun!
]]>Well no. I use Google Reader as a feed reader, and Google Reader offers a one click way to share articles. You can review all of my shared articles directly from Google, but new items are linked so that they show up on my sidebar.
If the articles were interesting enough to blog about, I would. For anything, that’s where it goes.
Enjoy!
]]>Do I intend to make money from this blog? Well actually, not really, but what better way to figure out how to embed ads?
So go ahead, call me a whore. Comments are, as always, appreciated.

]]>First off, I’d love some feedback on the fantastic caricature created by caricatureking.com.
With the help of Simple Tags WordPress plugin, I was able to clean up my tags. I’d highly recommend this plugin, you can do mass additions, renames, merges and deleted of tags, automatically tag new (and existing) articles based on their content, display that handy “Related Links” near the bottom, all in a nice clean easy to use interface. Especially useful, when creating new posts, after typing the first letter or two of a tag, Simple Tags shows me matching tags, so hopefully the days of having redundant tags like “humour, humor, jokes, funny” are over.
I also have a handy Contact page up at the top of my blog, this one is powered by Contact Form 7
I also updated Sensitive Tag Cloud, which allows navigating content based on tags which apply to the current view, rather then just showing a huge mess of tags.
Lastly, thanks to the fine folks at UsedCalgary.com providing a data feed, I now have an up-to-date listing of the most recently added items in my for-sale list in the sidebar, and I only slightly feel like a whore.
Feedback on any/all is appreciated!
